“Your voice counts”– influencing local policy and change
FREE online training event for Community Works members in Brighton and Hove
Do you think the council and NHS should better understand the needs of people using services?
Want to know how you can share your views and expertise to influence local decisions?
Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) organisations have a deep understanding of the lived experiences of people using services. Through our policy work, Community Works and the Sussex VCSE Leaders Alliance (SVLA) represent the knowledge and interests of the sector to local councils, the NHS, and other partners, working hard to build relationships and trust. Our shared aim is for the VCS, councils, and the NHS to work together in co-designing services and solutions that better meet local needs.
Come to this workshop and discover:
- What policy and influencing means
- Understanding and influencing Brighton & Hove City Council decision-making (Giles Rossington, Scrutiny Manager, BHCC)
- Community Works’ policy work and how you can get involved (Maria Antoniou, Partnerships & Policy Manager, with Community Works Reps)
- Understanding and influencing NHS decision-making (speaker tbc)
- How to make a policy plan for your organisation
