How we help
We offer one-to-one support on all aspects of volunteer management. We proactively seek out and prioritise this service to those groups working with marginalised people such as BAME, disability, LGBTQ, faith, children and young people and those at risk of chronic exclusion.
Courses and workshops for volunteer managers and coordinators. These include:
Developing your volunteering strategy
Equality, Diversity and Inclusion
Tailored training courses
Our charged for training service enables us to tailor training to meet the specific volunteering development needs of your organisation or group.
Volunteer Coordinators’ Forum
We currently have forums operating in Adur & Worthing and Brighton & Hove.
Our volunteer coordinators’ forum brings together people who manage volunteers. It’s a great way to stay up to date with and learn about best practice around volunteer management, to benefit from peer support, and to network with other volunteer coordinators.
Our forum is open to anyone who has direct responsibility for managing or coordinating volunteers, regardless of the size of your organisation and whether your role is paid or unpaid.
Each forum meeting provides an opportunity to develop skills and share experiences in the management of volunteers. The structure, format and themes are chosen in consultation with you and our funders. Our volunteer coordinators’ forum framework sets out in more detail the purpose of the forum.
Both groups also have an e-list which connects volunteer coordinators and managers enabling them to network with each other, share experience and good practice examples and get support on volunteering issues. We also send out any information that we think may interest you about developments in volunteering and opportunities for training for volunteers.
