Community Works is delivering a new pilot project in collaboration with the Trust for Developing Communities (TDC) and the Hangleton & Knoll Project. We are exploring ways of sharing information around the risks that communities face in Brighton & Hove, for example extreme weather, electricity failures, pandemics or pollution.

This month’s focus is on cold weather. Click on the link in the box below to find out how communities can prepare for and deal with situations that may arise because of cold weather.

The project is funded by the Sussex Resilience Forum and aims to ensure that people in Brighton & Hove are prepared for potential emergencies and that communities are resilient.

Our three organisations will focus on sharing a monthly resilience message in our newsletters, social media and through our networks meetings and other events. We will also gather feedback from communities about their response to these messages and how they prefer to receive information about risks and resilience.

The findings of this pilot project will help inform how the Sussex Resilience Forum links with the voluntary and community sector to effectively share information with local communities, so that the city can be more prepared if and when major incidents happen.
