The theme for this event, as requested at the last meeting is: ‘Racial Equity – Addressing Health Inequalities for Black and Racialised Minority people’* The event will be run in partnership with Sussex VCSE Leaders Alliance (SVLA).

We’ll hear from Community Works members Bridging Change and Sussex Interpreting Services, as well as Marian Guerges, Senior Programme Manager, Chief Medical Officer Directorate and Sayanti Banarjee, Senior Manager, Population and Health Inequalities for the Integrated Care Board (NHS), who will all share their projects and examples of good practice in this area.

We’ll also explore the principles of allyship and discuss actions that community organisations can take to support the health, wellbeing, equity, and inclusion of Black and racialised minority (BRM) communities. Louise Knight and Katie Cuming from Public Health will present Health Counts data, with a particular focus on findings relating to BRM populations.

There will be time for shared learning, discussion and networking with other organisations working in health and social care. We encourage everyone involved in health and social care to attend and contribute to the conversation.

Looking forward to seeing you there!
