With over 100 registrations for Smart Connections – The Potential of AI & Digital, we were thrilled to welcome attendees from community groups and organisations to our event at Rooms Worthing.

Expert speakers: Mary Kemp (AI Potential), Fran Hall & Lee Davies (CharityWise powered by Fresh Egg) and Ceci Sutcliffe (Plinth) shared powerful insights into how AI can support the sector in ways such as improving funding applications, measuring and monitoring outcomes and boosting visibility and community reach.

As well as listening to speakers, attendees watched live demos and took part in hands-on activities. Membership and Events Coordinator Faustina Bayo said, ‘The room was buzzing with curiosity, creativity, and connection. Attendees brought their laptops and devices, got stuck in, and left feeling empowered and energised.’

Attendee Clive Cavanagh from Worthing Homes said, ‘I thought it was one of the best things I have been to in a long time. It made me think about this anew and I have been using AI more as a result – which I would probably not have done so readily without the training.’

Nicci Parish from Billy and Beyond had been hesitant about using AI before attending the event. She said, ‘As someone who was really scared to try anything AI, it really helped me to see that it shouldn’t be worrying and can actually be super helpful. I was excited to go home and give it a try!’

Faustina added, ‘The words that echoed as we wrapped up? Try. Play. Explore. That’s the spirit we hoped to ignite – and it truly landed! A huge thank you to our incredible speakers, attendees, and everyone who made the day such a success!’
